After a four-year long partnership, founder Eric Pleska resumed full ownership of PWS in 2016. One final event was held at the sold out Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Headlined by appearances by numerous wrestling legends and the retirement match of Necro Butcher, the event netted the highest of any PWS event ever.
Shortly after, Eric Pleska sold PWS. The highly sought after video library, including nearly 100 live events, 52 hours of the "Monday Night Mayhem" internet show, and 52 hours of PWS' weekly television program were sold to Title Match Pro Wrestling.
Various independent promoters purchased PWS' social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. Additional physical assets including wrestling ring parts, several hundred folding chairs, and guardrails were purchased by FTW Wrestling.
The remains of PWS, including five title belts
(PWS Champion, Television Champion, Suicidal Six Way Champion, and Tag Team Champions), event banners, the PWS website, name,and unsold merchandise were sold to Brooklyn based promoter Frank Mayor.
The total sale of assets exceeded expectations.
