Now available on various digital music services, including iTunes, Pandora, and Amazon Music, this album is a nostalgic collection of songs that Eric Pleska and Ed Massena, two teenagers in the late 1990s, recorded. Eric Pleska, with his heartfelt lyrics and musical ideas, collaborated with self-taught musician Edward Massena to create this collection of ten poppy punk tunes in the late 1990s.
Ed Massena, who proficiently taught himself how to operate recording equipment, also served as the recording engineer for the project in his makeshift home studio. The songs were composed of the genuine perspectives of two Holden Caufeld-esque suburban NYC teens dealing with the various hypocrisies of adult society and the buffoonery of stereotypical high school jocks and cool kids.
The entire album was recorded from scratch over the course of a weekend and includes all original songs, except a remake of the song "Winnie Cooper" by Eric and Ed's previous high school band, 43 Bob, and a cover of "Everybody Wants Something" by the fictitious band, The Zit Remedy, from the 1980s Canadian television series Degrassi Jr High.
Pleska shared the recording of "Everybody Wants Something" with Canadian actor Pat Mastroianni who starred on Degrassi Jr. High as Zit Remedy frontman Joey Jeremiah. Mastroianni enjoyed the tune so much that he shared it with the cast of Degrassi The Next Generation, who praised the song, including Aubrey Graham, now known professionally as multi-platinum megastar Drake.
